60 years ago today, John Mitchell started his haulage business with one second hand Albion. Now, John Mitchell Grangemouth runs 120 vehicles and employs 170 people!
To celebrate this momentous anniversary, Iain & Jane Mitchell wanted to do something positive so along with family friend Liz Hallam, they organised a Burns Evening back in February at which they raised £60,000 for 60 years for Strathcarron Hospice!
Director, Iain Mitchell, said: “The hospice is our charity partner and we recently met our target of raising £60,000 for a local charity during our 60th anniversary year.
Hot on the heels of our special Diamond Anniversary Fundraising Burns Supper, organised by the company and family friend Liz Hallam, we presented a cheque for £60,000 to the Hospice.”
Claire Macdonald, Business Development Fundraiser for Strathcarron Hospice, commented: “At Strathcarron, we are incredibly grateful to our corporate partner John Mitchell Haulage, Liz Hallam and everyone who supported the evening and made this significant donation possible.
We simply could not survive were it not for the continued support of the local communities we serve, and this donation will be used for the benefit of patients and their families, both here at the Hospice and out in these communities.”
