Throughout the month of October, Strathcarron Hospice ran its first Gift in Wills campaign which saw 13 local solicitors throughout Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth generously waive their will-writing fees in order to raise vital funds for the Hospice. The campaign was also kindly supported by Antonine Investment Managers – a local firm of Chartered Financial Planners offering independent financial planning advice and solutions to corporate and individual clients.
Craig Gillon, MD of Antonine Investment Managers, said: “We were delighted to support Strathcarron Hospice with this initiative, which brought to the fore the importance of having your arrangements, whether personal or financial, in order. We are fully aware of the annual budget which is required to maintain and build on the amazing work that has been ongoing with the Hospice for over 35 years and we will look to continue to offer our support going forward.”
The campaign has seen a very positive response and the Hospice is delighted that many people have taken up the offer of having their will written for a donation instead of paying solicitor fees. Donations are still being received however as it stands, the campaign has raised over £7,000.00 for Strathcarron.
Claire Macdonald, Business Development Fundraiser at Strathcarron commented: “We are delighted that so many solicitors generously supported our campaign this year and would like to say thank you to each and every one of them. I must also say a special thanks to the team at Antonine Investment Managers for their support and of course, to our local community who donated and had their wills written during the month.”
Barrowman & Partners Solicitors added: “As Cumbernauld solicitors we like to support our local charities. We are delighted to hand over our donation raised through our participation in Strathcarron Hospice Gift in Wills month and contribute to the wonderful service they provide. We are very lucky to have the palliative care provided by Strathcarron Hospice and we look forward to continuing to fundraise for such a worthy cause.”
