Supporting families of residents at end of life within the care home setting

This 2 day course will enable registered nurses to develop increased knowledge and enhanced skills to promote effective communication with families of care home residents with palliative and end of life care needs. Some learning outcomes include;

  •  Develop an increased understanding of how family systems respond to loss and change in the care home setting.
  •  Enhance knowledge and skills in communicating effectively with families of residents at end of life.
  •  Enable ‘Sensitive Discussions’ with families related to end of life care
  •  Engage in experiential reflection on individual skills, attitudes and ways of being to support families at end of life

This workshop is open to Registered Nurses working in a care home setting. In addition to classroom based learning this course will adopt an interactive approach involving participation in interactive demonstrations.

Venue: Strathcarron Hospice, Denny
Dates: 2nd and 16th March 2017 – both from 9.30am to 4.30pm Follow up reflective session on 28th March 2017 — 2pm to 4.30pm Please note you have to attend all 3 dates
Cost – £95 for all 3 dates

Please bring own sandwich lunch or lunch may be purchased on the day from hospice canteen.

Due to the experiential nature of this course, places are limited so please book early to secure a place.
