trust

I’m sure it hasn’t escaped many of you charities, and in particular their fundraising activities, have come under considerable scrutiny during the past year with a number of high-profile cases making front page news. This has naturally led to a decrease in public trust.

Strathcarron Hospice would like to take this opportunity to re-assure all our supporters; past, present and future, that every donation we receive is absolutely vital to the running costs across the breadth of our services and will always be used appropriately. In actual fact, 93p in every £1 goes directly into patient care, which is astounding given the complexity of the organisation. Over and above statuary funding we need to raise £10,000 each and every day of the year and, of course, fundraising is a key element of this. Quite simply we exist for, and because of, people like you who live within our catchment areas.

As active members of the Fundraising Standards Board and Institute of Fundraising, we adhere to all current regulations and will continue to progress with any new governing body in the future.

Jackie Johnston, Fundraising Manager added “At Strathcarron Hospice we respect the rights and privacy of our supporters. We never share your details with other organisations and will not put undue pressure on you to make a donation. If you do not wish to give, or wish to cease giving, we will respect your wishes.”

As the services of Strathcarron Hospice are coming under increasing demand from the population of 340,500 in the area, so our fundraising will continue to ensure free palliative care for all our patients and their families at a time when it is needed most.
