We often find ourselves asking for help from our friends and supporters – to attend events, to volunteer in many different capacities, to raise funds – but on this occasion we are asking you to help us help YOU.
There are many people in our communities who are living with long term debilitating conditions and chronic illnesses, often being cared for by family members. This can be a very isolating experience for both the carer and the person living with the condition, and knowing where to turn for help, advice, support and information can be overwhelmingly daunting. Here at Strathcarron we are working on a project to try and tackle this issue head on, but we need your help.
We are looking for eight individuals from Denny, Dennyloanhead or Dunipace who are either living with a long term illness or caring for someone who is , and who would be willing to attend a meeting on
Thursday 1st September, 10am – 12pm, in the Archibald Russell Centre, Head of Muir, Denny – tea, coffee and home baking provided!
We need to hear what support you have found in your area, how you cope with your situation, and what kind of support facilities you feel you would like to see available in your community. This meeting is just the start of the project, but you wouldn’t be obliged to contribute beyond this initial stage unless you wished to.
Our aim is to work with you and the community to design services which will support people to plan for the future and to live every moment of the time they have, right till the end of their life, because every moment is precious. If you or anyone you know might be interested, and would like to find out more, please call Susan High on 01324 826222.
We want to listen, we want to hear YOUR voice, because you matter and only you can really tell us what you need. Please help us by supporting this very special project – all it will cost is a couple of hours of your time, which could make a huge difference not only to your own life going forward, but to many others too.
Together, we can make each moment count – will you help?
