Many of you will be familiar with Strathcarron Hospice shops whether donating goods for re-sale or by shopping for that item. However many of you will not be aware of just valuable all this retail therapy is to the hospice.
Collectively, our 14 shops provide £500,000 towards the annual running costs across the full range of services offered for people with a terminal illness (which are always given completely free of charge to everyone).
We will always ensure we realise the best value for any items you donate to us, sometimes by moving items items to another shop or sometimes using specialist’s auctions for antiques of value. Each shop is different and full of amazing and often unusual items. They are a great source for a good book, a wedding hat or even a Halloween outfit!
Of course, the value of your donated items, when sold, can be increased by 25p in every £1 if you sign up to the Gift Aid scheme. If you are a UK taxpayer you are able to sign up up so next time you are in any of our shops please just ask for a form. To ensure we make the most of all donated stock we have now invested in a retail distribution centre in Falkirk.
We are delighted this generated generated three paid positions in your communities. Here we will sort out the donations and send them to the most appropriate shop. However we need your help by volunteering to make the most of our opportunity. If you would like to volunteer with us on this exciting new initiative please contact Mandy Ross on 01324 826222 or by email: volunteering@strathcarronhospice.net
